About the School

Gurukul Academy was founded by Shri Baba Batuk Nathji. Babaji had the privilege of being educated in the country's finest Public schools-Welham Boys School and later, The Doon School, Dehradun. After graduating with English Honours from Delhi University, he had been heading a number of charitable trusts which operate various religious institutions and reputed Degree Colleges around the country. Gurukul Academy is the result of his long time vision to found a global chain of world class academic institutions, combining the best of Public School Education with the rich heritage and culture of India.

About The Founder

Baba Batuk Nathji, the Founder of Gurukul Academy was an Alumnus of the famous 'Doon School' Dehradun and a highly well read person. He felt the urge to open a similar Public School, which would provide the best of the Modern Education coupled with a strong value system. He wanted each child passing out of the portals of this school to be a living example of a perfect citizen of the Country.

He felt that children should be empowered with positive thinking from early childhood. Hence, he rightly chose the Motto "Empowerment Through Education". He was a great visionary, a guiding light and mentor for not only his students but even the staff of Gurukul as he believed that this was his large family, with him as the Head of the family.

He was extremely fond of children. Under his spiritual care and guidance the school shot to fame within a short span, with high academic results and plenty of achievements to be proud off. The School is now recognized amongst the top 10 Schools of Lucknow.

Message From Babaji

Vidyarthi means student in Hindi, which comprises two words - "Vidya" + "Arthi" which means 'Seeker of Knowledge'.

Education is not restricted to books alone. It extends to the daily experiences we encounter and the teachings we imbibe from them.How we perceive the experiences will help us shape as individuals.

At Gurukul, we not only work towards academic excellence but also on values, balance, self discipline and self confidence. We believe that a good student is one who is able to learn from every experience and obstacle that is put before them in life. We develop individuals who respect themselves and contribute positively to their surroundings .We need the cooperation of the parents to create individuals who pursue excellence and alongside are happy content souls as we can only contribute what we have. School and home go hand in hand to shape the future of the child.

About The Principal

Mrs. Kalpana Singh has over thirty three years of valuable experience in academics, including almost ten years as the Principal of a leading school of Lucknow, and twenty years as the Founder Principal of Gurukul Academy.

After completing her schooling from La Martiniere Girls, Lucknow, she did her post graduation in English literature and B.Ed before embarking upon a distinguished teaching career.

Under her able leadership as the Principal of City Montessori School (Mahanagar New Building) the school achieved excellent ICSE and ISC results for which she was awarded the prestigious ‘Sansthan Bhushan’ award in 1996 by the former Governor of Uttar Pradesh, His Excellency late Shri Moti Lal Vohra.

Mrs. Singh is the Founder Principal of Gurukul Academy and in 20 years has ensured not only the best academic results but also that students grow up with a strong value system and self- discipline .It is because of this that the school is rated amongst the best ten schools of Lucknow.
